Dr. Ibrahim Uwaydah Scholarship

Deadline Extended to July 1, 2010

(Houston, Texas, USA, April 20, 2010) - The Palestinian American Bridge (PAB) organization is proud to announce the establishment of Ibrahim Uwaydah Scholarship, a new annual academic scholarship in honor of the late Dr. Ibrahim Uwaydah for students of Palestinian origin who study in the Houston area in higher education institutions, yet another major milestone in the organization’s endeavors.

In February 2010, PAB held its Annual Banquet Event and hosted Mr. Andrew Whitley, Head of UNRWA (United Nations Relief and Works Agency).  During this event, PAB was able to raise
$47,600 to benefit the new scholarship program.

The goal of the new scholarship is to recognize outstanding students of Palestinian origin who live in the Houston Metropolitan area and are attending or plan to attend a university or college in the Houston Metropolitan area, reward them for their achievements and help them meet their basic academic expenses.

Ibrahim Uwaydah’s Scholarship is a merit and need based scholarship. The amount of money that will be awarded is based on the financial need of the student.
